Del Taco

I was in town for a few days and thought I'd try something new. Enter Del Taco. First, the service and the atmosphere were just fine. No issues there. But there's more to a first impression than mere appearances. After trying it, I can say that I'm not a fan. As a midwesterner, let me say this: Del Taco < Taco Johns.

It's been such a long time since I last enjoyed a meal at a Del Taco, so I was genuinely thrilled to come across this spot while traveling. I highly recommend trying the two-crunchy-shell combo with fries—they're a delightful treat! I asked if they had ground turkey, but unfortunately, they only offer ground beef. Still, everything was fresh and delicious, just like I fondly remembered.

Usually get lunch there every Thursday for some chicken tacos. Del Taco isn't michelline star quality, but they make a solid bean burrito and a good fast food chicken taco. My coworker and I never pay more than 15 bucks to feed the two of us and that includes drinks. At most other places, 15 bucks wont even get you an entrée. I'll be back next Thursday for more tacos.

If I had to sum it up in 1 word, I'd say filthy. Had to take my sons to the bathroom, and it's one of those bathrooms, you don't want them to touch a single thing, let alone wash there hands because even the sink doesn't look like it can clean your hands. People's shoes prints cover the floor of the entire restaurant. Every single table looked like it needed to be wiped off. We thought it would be better to sit outside, being it's so cool this time of year, ended up having to grab a couple stacks of napkins and wet them in the bathroom to wipe off our table outside, which turned the napkins black because the tables are never cleaned. Food was pretty good. Cleanliness made me feel we will never eat there again.

Who owns this franchise? You need to go do a surprise or undercover visit to this store. The staff here is rude and I shouldn’t have to repeat my order multiple times only for it still to be incorrect. Additionally, if the tortillas are stale my brain would tell me NOT to serve these to paying customers. Just common sense. At the drive thru window I witnessed an employee drop someone’s food on the floor while putting it into the bag, she picked it up and proceeded to put it in the bag. Granted it was still wrapped but that is food safety 101, you never do something like that. Makes you wonder what else is going on that we cannot see in the kitchen. I will not be back.
