Del Taco

I was looking for food better and more consistently good-er than Taco Bell. This is definitely a step above. Shrimp tacos are tasty. Fish tacos are just okay although a love the lime slices. The chicken and steak burritos are CRAZY good. They put fries in each of them unless requested. If you get the combo it may seem overboard but, the fries are always cooked to order which make them fantastic. The beef burrito is of high quality but it left something to be desired. Service has been good. A couple employees have been SUPER enthusiastic, pleasant, and helpful. During another experience, I wasn't given any napkins. Did I just drive 4 hours round trip, on Christmas Eve, from outside Richmond, VA just for Del Taco? Yep. Would I do it again? Definitely! I’m originally from SoCal so when I heard Del Taco was coming to VA Beach…say no more. I hadn’t had Del Taco in YEARS, have eaten there 100s of times, and everything was spot on. Just like I remembered. If you live near VA Beach or have never experienced Del Taco, do yourself a favor and go there. Thank me later. This location is going to rock. I look forward to Del Taco coming to Richmond!! To the Owner Brian: Great job working the kitchen alongside your staff on Christmas Eve. You don’t see that everyday. As I walked in, the manager or owner was about to leave, he was thanking the staff and saying goodnight to almost all of them I think. So everything aside, that was awesome!! That alone will make me come back and give them another try. Food is not impressive, very small tacos so you’ll need a large fry, yes that have fries, to fill you up. The classic burrito was not great, the grilled chicken burrito was the best thing I tried. Might try their burgers and epic burrito next time. Staff is very very helpful, they’re new and they’ll make some mistakes but give them a break, I’m sure they’ll get better. The place is brand new so it is clean. Will give them another try soon.

As a SoCal native where Del Taco is basically a food group, now living in Virginia Beach, I had to check out the Del Taco that finally made its way here 🌮✨ And let me tell you—it did not disappoint. Everything was fresh and tasted just like home, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. My go-to favorites? The chili cheddar fries with extra cheese (because obviously), the classic value snack-size tacos, and the classic bean & cheese burrito—add green sauce, onions, and extra cheese for perfection 🤌🧀 So excited to finally have Del Taco in Virginia Beach! 🙌🌴

The bearded guy at the drive thru was so kind and welcoming. The tacos have always been full and tasty. Tried the burger today, it was awesome.
