We were driving thru Godley on a Wednesday and stopped in at Del Norte Tacos for some lunch. The parking lot was empty so we were unsure if it was even open. A little confusing as to which door is actually the entrance but once inside you'll find a small area with chalkboard menu's on the wall. The prices are on the higher side for a place that sells tacos but it is what it is. The wife ordered one brisket taco ($6.99) and I ordered one chicken taco ($6.99) and one pork taco ($6.00). They are standard flour or double corn tortillas. Each taco did have a lot of meat so that was a plus. But I tasted the wife's brisket taco and there was no smoke flavoring in the meat. It was like the brisket was cooked in an oven. My pork and chicken tacos were okay but again at $6-$6.99 each you'd expect m
del norte chicken quesodeas are my usual. really good. people are friendly. been going for a few years now.
Nothing fancy here in the form of structure or atmosphere, but the reason to come in is the food. Today I had the Tex-Mex enchiladas with beef fajita, I have to say they were darn good. The rice was just a bit undercooked for me, but still edible. Sweet tea was plenty good and they offered to go cups. It is a little bit on the pricey side, $23 for enchiladas and a sweet tea, but I think overall it’s a fair price for the quality of food.
It was the best around back in the early 2000s now its mid at best and the price is crazy for the loc and zip code . A lot of meat they are out of late in the day and the smoked meat appears to be blended with grilled meat to cut cost on wood and time it used to be very smokie taste but not now. Not worth the drive or the price but will still stomp our Fuzzy or Thochy any day of the week but for a few more bucks . It looked like they have live music for a cover late in the day . The place was a 1950s closed gas station . I dined in an old garage with ac limited seating indoors with ac they have screened deck too.
Had the quesadilla with brisket and it was delicious! The homemade charro beans were so yummy. Loved both the habanero and verde salsas! Worth the drive for something new. Can’t wait to come back and try something else. Staff is super friendly 🙌
