Department of Public Safety Princeton University

I recently experienced a medical emergency and am deeply grateful for the support of Princeton Public Safety. Their team responded with professionalism and genuine empathy, making a difficult situation much easier to handle. We in Princeton are fortunate to have such a dedicated and caring group protecting our community.

Checking in today and what unbelievably egotistical bad mannered wannabe cop did we meet in Mr. STEPHEN TARDIFF. Very confrontational and did not want to admit when he was wrong and picking and choosing who he " allowed " to park in front od dorms and who he didn't allow amd made go around again ( takes approximately 20 minutes ). Then proceeded to tell me im being difficult and antagonizing me while the young sophomore helper apparently has to side with him. All in all, if there was a clear sign of where to pull in to unload, all this could've been prevented but they dont really acknowledge their shortcomings and instead Mr. TARDIFF wanted to exert his authority over you. He has to be exposed!!! Not a pleasant person. Unhappiness shows through and through with this unpleasant person!!!

I was referred to the police department for some routine fingerprinting work. I found the officers outstanding. Also, in following the detective sergeant, there was an amazing dog called "Coach." The folks were extremely professional, helpful and really deserve 6 out of 5!

I have several encounters with public safety, as was told by colleagues and profs that this dept could help with safety issues especially after-hour concerns and they basically are like a police office. The essence of their work, however, isn't really about your safety unless it's on a very specific protocol or by request of some university program. I now would rather risk my safety than make any conversation with them ever again. The dispatchers and decision makers run with the capability of white-collar neophytes and the arrogance of a homeland-level police office. Ironically, the school doesn't seem to share much of the database with this dept, or they just don't bother to know much.
