Dickey's Barbecue Pit

2/6/26: This location is very clean, and the owner is usually there, with a smile and welcoming customers. He takes a lot pride in providing great customer service and great food. I really like their fried okra, which is made when ordered. I enjoy stopping by for lunch or dinner, and he even smoked a small brisket for me this past Thanksgiving. He also honor Veterans on Veteran's Day. I will continue to support this location.

Without a doubt, this is some of the best barbecue you’ll find anywhere — and certainly the best Dickey’s location around. The owner is almost always there, greeting customers with a warm smile and making sure everything is perfect. That level of care really shows in the food and the atmosphere. The restaurant is spotless every time I visit — by far the cleanest Dickey’s I’ve ever seen — and the food is consistently delicious, fresh, and served at a fair price. You can tell they take real pride in what they do here. If you’re craving great barbecue and genuine hospitality, this Firewheel Mall Dickey’s in Garland is the place to go. Highly recommended!

Walking into this location both owners were sitting down towards the back of the restaurant! The message was on his cellphone. The wife got up and proceeded to the preparation area. Neither of them washed their hands. The husband was on his phone. The wife at least put on gloves. The husband came to help, but didn't wash his hands! I was the only customer. After my order was ready, I showed him a picture of what I ordered and asked him if my order looked like this picture from the website menu. He said yes. He blatantly lied to my face! Then he asked me if I was a delivery person, as I was walking out, I said no, I'm the customer, then he said Oh. Nothing else was said. If you love DRYYYYYYYYY BBQ order from this location. This is my second time ordering from this location and to say I should have known better, is an understatement! I thought my first time ordering from this location might’ve been a fluke so I gave them a second try. Sadly, I learned that all meats from this location are going to be drier than the Sahara. I attempted to rectify the matter by speaking with the owner but only met resistance. I explained how this was my second time ordering from this location and I’d given them a second chance. The response I was given was, “If you don’t like it, eat elsewhere.” Excuse me?!? Fine I’ll do just that and take my family of 5 to places that value their customers and don’t mind critical feedback. I’ve come by 2 times within the winter storm this week. The first was just to get out of the house and the second was because it was so good the first time. This Dickey’s has been open through the winter storm with just one employee managing the cooking, customers, and upkeep, and he’s killing it! He always makes sure I had what I needed and if there was an issue with the order he made sure to take care of it. Please take the time to recognize his efforts!
