Dockside Waterfront Grill

Came here for lunch after a strenuous hike in a nearby park. We were sat down very quickly inside with no wait. The service was good and the waitress stayed in top of our orders and drink refills. We ordered 4 appetizers and each of us ordered respective lunches. The food seemed fresh, and was a good sized portion. Much of the food didn't have much seasoning. The fries, chips, or the fish. Our favorite app was the Crab Mango Stack, and the calamari wasn't bad either. I think we all left saying it was fine, but nothing spectacular tasting. Case in point, my friend put salt and pepper on his Triple Tail filet. I had the grouper Reuben sandwich, and the taste of the grouper was masked by the thousand Island dressing and cole slaw. This place has it all. Ambiance. Terrific service. Refreshing drinks. Tasty food. And Yelp waitlisting. You'll want to use that wait list option. Trust me. This place invites a crowd no matter the season. Once seated (wait list was right around an hour on a Thursday) we were promptly greeted by Tristian (sp?), a diligent server who offered some great, and honest, recommendations. We chose to be seated in the main dining room, although you can also eat at the bar or the tiki. The menu is seafood heavy, with many ways to have your seafood prepared. Apparently the grouper and lobster are the top dishes, available in many forms. We started with the crab and mango appetizer and oyster Rockefeller. Amazing spot near Venice Beach with unbeatable views right on the docks. The food was incredible and everything we ordered was fresh and full of flavor. Our waitress Kyliee made the experience even better. She was super friendly, gave great menu recommendations, and was extremely attentive. Our drinks were always refilled right when we needed them. Overall, an awesome experience and we can’t wait to come back again!

Hidden gem!!! Great seafood. Very comfortable feel the minute you walk in. We tided up a table way too long. They didn't seem to mind. Our server was wonderful. Gave us a taste of the bang-bang sauce to make sure it wasn't too, too spicy Food/server: presentation GREAT, service WONDERFUL, food DELICIOUS!!! Grouper bites appetizer very good, blackened, grilled grouper and bang-bang grouper wrap scrumptious. Everything perfect.

Love this spot! The Grouper Tacos were fantastic, we had them blackened and they had so much flavor! I love the sauce and other toppings on top and the side of rice and beans that it comes with. The fish and chips were perfect, we got it with the house potato chips, which were really yummy and the asparagus that was perfectly cooked. The lobster tails were good, but it is very expensive for the portion size. Everything was delicious and the service and ambience are great. I love that this is on the dock, and we watched a cute dolphin swim around while we waited to be seated.
