Doe River Inn-Elizabethton

This is an old historical home with antique furniture to match. Frank is an awesome man. Very friendly. The home has two bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs. That's probably the biggest down fall but for the 10 days we stayed we only had to share 2 nights. He does continental breakfast only now. Its a nice place to stay. You are a walk from the covered bridge and town. Doe River is behind the house.

The Doe River Inn was wonderful: modern, clean, and very comfortable. |The breakfast was delicious, and served whenever we wished. You feel more like a houseguest than a client. Typical southern hospitality from our innkeeper, Mary, was in abundance.||We stayed in the carriage house, which is newly opened. It is actually a fully equipped apartment. Next to it is the main house which is just as comfortable and lovingly decorated. I highly recommend the Doe River Inn to anyone.

I feel that the review from the previous guest is very misleading. We have stayed at the Doe River Inn and have never had a problem with the condition of the properties or the innkeepers. Frank and Mary are the most hospitable innkeepers of any B&B we have been to. The main house, the carriage house and the cottage are quaint and have a great deal of character. I would highly recommend staying at the Doe River for a short weekend trip or an extended stay in Elizabethton!!|

The Doe River Inn was built in 1863, but is in great condition. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are adequate and you share a bathroom with other guests. Continental breakfast is pit out the night before. The owners are in their 80's, stay up late and sleep in. They are very sweet!

My family and I have stayed at the Doe River Inn many of times. I have never had a bad exerience! I have stayed in the larger house with my whole family and the cottage across the street with just my husband. I never want to return home. The breakfast was incredible and is served anytime you would like. I loved the town! From the inn its not a long walk to get to downtown elizabethton. The Inn is on the river which you can view out the window of the kitchen and in the sunroom. I highly suggest visiting!|
