Hands down the worst service I’ve ever encountered at a restaurant. We walk in, get greeted by the hostess, and she seats us right away in what looked like a promising section. Barely a minute later, two other families stroll in behind us—literally right after—and get seated in the exact same area. Then the waitress shows up… and completely skips over our table like we were invisible. She takes drink orders from both families who came in after us, chatting and smiling away, while my family sits there twiddling our thumbs, menus untouched, no acknowledgment, nothing. Not even a ‘be right with you.’ It was so blatantly obvious and unprofessional that it felt almost intentional. We were left wondering if we’d accidentally offended the seating gods or something. This was my first time trying this place and I had really high hopes as we don't have many options for restaurants in Crawfordville. I placed a pick up order for just my husband and I, which was one meal and two appetizers that came out to be $60. For $60 I expected phenomenal food. It was everything but that. My order was said to be ready at 6:20. I arrived around 6:15. I didn't leave with my pick up order until 6:50. Several other people came in and picked up multiple orders AFTER me and somehow left BEFORE me. Mind you- I had ONE meal and TWO appetizers. Upon actually eating my food it was extremely mediocre. Sharing this so people know where kindness exists—and where it doesn’t. On December 15th, I had my truck totaled and was left stranded. I walked nearly three miles in freezing cold weather with my dog on a leash because the tow truck driver told me he had another call and couldn’t help me. I was cold, exhausted, and just trying to find somewhere to warm up for a moment. I walked up to Donkey’s Restaurant as a woman was unlocking the door. I politely said, “Ma’am.” Instead of responding, she appeared alarmed, rushed inside, locked the door behind her, and left me standing outside in the cold. I never entered the restaurant, never raised my voice, and never did anything threatening. Still freezing, I crossed the street to TC Bakery. Food took 45 min for a burger and ribs ,20 min for a margarita. The best part is there were only 2 tables lol our food was warm at best won't return.
