Customer Reviews
Great beach for fishing, walking a dog (on leash), or just hanging out. Excellent, well kept camping facilities. Cool coast guard boats docked on the inner bay side. Ample room along the shore to spread out and find a spot. Spot local wildlife including seals, pelicans, kingfishers, and rare snowy plovers. Parking can fill up on busy days, come early to beat the crowds- or better yet, stay the night and watch the epic sun rise.
One evening during camping, the kids lost some belongings at the beach, but the next day, we found them neatly arranged at the entrance to the path. Additionally, we left our crabbing nets behind, and when we returned the next day, no one had taken them. Every time we visit, people are always very polite, considerate, and kind. There's a breakwater, so the waves aren’t dangerous. As long as it’s not too windy, it’s the perfect beach to enjoy.
We took a day trip to Doran Beach in Bodega Bay yesterday and we had an incredible time. The beauty of the area is nearly unmatched and we had so much fun that we did not want to come home! The Doran Regional Park area has a two mile wide beach and over 120 campsites. There are also picnic benches to enjoy your lunch on as well as outdoor barbecues available to all guests. The parking fee for the day is $7 and it is well worth the price of admission. The beauty of the area will take your breath away!
Love it here, so much I keep coming back. For those with kids like myself, Bodega Bay and subsequently, Doran Beach, is vastly safer compared to the other beaches around here due to the protection the bay offers from giant waves. It's still dangerous, as any body of water is, but if you wanted to bring kids to the beach, this is where it's at.
Lovely beach. long stretch of water. in the way so it's a bit windy. there are sections for camping and then sections for day use, they cross over for all the beach areas. They allow dogs both for day use and camping (camping seven dollars a night). They charge for parking but you can park up the road if you'd like and walk.
