Very comforting malatang spot. Pay by weight and you get a lot of soup. The soup is a bit different than some of the other places, I believe they use sesame or peanut as a base that makes it very nutty. I got regular spicy and it was the perfect spice for me. This is a great place to go on a cold day.

This place is a Flushing GEM!!! Absolutely the best ma la tang I’ve had in the area and their prices/selections are such a great deal 😭 I’ll keep coming here again and again if it means they’ll stay in business ❤️❤️❤️

Here's how to order a big bowl of malatang at Double Ma La Tang in Murray Hill: grab a big bowl and tongs, then head to the toppings bar. You’ll find a wide variety of seafood, fish balls, meats, noodles, vegetables… all the essentials on display. You can choose from one of their pre-made combos, but I think the fun part is building a bowl 100% full of ingredients you like (no cilantro for me). Once you’re done, weigh your bowl at the counter - you’re charged by weight, with a one-pound minimum. It’s a great way to match your meal to your appetite that day. Next, choose how you want it cooked: either hot pot style in broth or dry pot stir-fried. I went for the hot pot and my husband went for a dry pot. Then pick your spice level from 5 levels, anywhere from clear broth to extra spicy. Ever

Quick, affordable and tasty dry hot pot. You walk in, grab a bowl and tongs, choose your ingredients and hand it over to the cashier to cook. Price is based on weight, but one bowl around 1.5 lb was enough for the two of us. We opted for the “tiny spicy” level and it was just the right out amount of kick — not too spicy but just enough to get you sniffling. The seasoning the chef put it was great too. Highly recommend

we doordashed dry hotpot and the flavor was lacking with the majority of the food being cabbage. the mala flavor was lacking despite getting spicy. every single skewer was sweet rather than savory. their german sausage was no different to their mini sausages.
