Doyle's Pour House Barnegat

Stopped in for a quick bite and we’re lucky enough to hit it between the hours of happy hour. Prices were great so we ordered two appetizers fried pickles and fried cheese balls. Both were slightly overcooked cheese balls were delicious and I love the side of sauce they gave you. My husband got a hamburger and I got a plate of nachos. A plate of nachos looks beautiful, but they were hard as a rock. I was only able to eat. Four of them waitress was great very personable.

I came for the fish and chips. "DOYLE'S BELLY BUSTER". "Generous 8oz filet with ff and cole slaw".. no way generous.. not a belly buster by a long stretch but decent. I expected a larger piece of codfish.. not sure that was cod.. got just 2 small bitty pieces but still accompanied by a heaping full thinly sliced FRENCH FRY basket. BUT ... no coleslaw. Nothing to write home about there.. And I'm still hungry for thick juicy beer battered cod... And so I keep searching! I added an appetizer.. the Clamtown Steamers.. it was really good. Get over here for these local fresh clams in a zesty, hot spicy, garlicy broth.. it was awesome; with the 2 huge pieces of Garlic Bread. The Tonewood Poolside Lager I had.. (like a Dos Equis) and Double Nickel IPA.. both very cold, refreshing. Definitely

Awesome pub very easy to find with parking all around the building. We decided to check it out on a Friday night and it was packed! We were able to snag a high top but the bar was totally full, a great problem to have! Live music was great! The menu was expansive with plenty to choose from, but I heard the wings were the thing to get. We tried a few different sauces, the soccer being the overwhelming favorite. French onion soup was a little underwhelming, but overall a great meal! Will definitely be back here. Bonus points for the bendy straws!

I took my family out for dinner and it seemed like we were served lukewarm leftovers. A few years back, Doyle’s had quality control issues and so I stopped bringing my family there. We tried it again about a year ago and seemed back to normal. Today was a different story and we will NEVER go back again. If I was the server, I would not have served the food that we ordered. I should have known something was up when my soup came and it was cold, broken, and runny. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and wings and the food was somehow burnt and cold at the same time. What a disappointment!!!

Great local place with great food. Awesome bar. Super friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Standing room only on St Patrick's Day!
