Duo Modern Japanese Cuisine & Hibachi

Had the best experience for my son’s birthday. My son is autistic and mentally disabled and he LOVED Duo restaurant. The food was very delicious, but what stood out the way they treated my son, and engaged with him. They were patient, kind, attentive to him. They interacted with him and joked around with him. The owner and staff went above and beyond to make him feel like he was an important person there, and that he mattered. We laughed a lot. Enjoyed outstanding foods. My son asked to come back the next day for lunch, and we ended up going the day after. It was just as great as an experience as it was for his birthday. We will definitely keep coming back!

This is our absolute must-stop spot every time we're upstate! We are consistently impressed by the fresh and delicious sushi rolls, and the hibachi is always a fantastic, entertaining experience. Our hibachi chef was hilarious and made it a super fun meal. The staff is wonderfully attentive, even accommodating the pickier eaters in our group with a smile. The vibrant, happy atmosphere is infectious, and the happy hour is a fantastic value. It's a guaranteed great time!

I’ve loved this restaurant for years, which is why my last visit hurt so much. I booked a hibachi table for 13 people for my birthday—7:00 pm, confirmed. But when we arrived, they’d given our table away. First they said there was no reservation, then suddenly it was for 8:00 pm. It felt like we didn’t matter at all. After waiting, they finally seated us in a back room that was freezing. The grill warmed it up only while the chef was cooking; the moment he finished, the cold rushed back in. Our food went cold almost instantly. It completely ruined the experience. The manager, May, offered hot sake, but it didn’t address the actual problem. When I explained everything later, she offered hot sake again. I felt dismissed, not heard. Bottom line: a reservation here doesn’t seem to mean anyth

Food is always incredibly phenomenal from here. We ordered several different things to try and they were all amazing! This was our first time going in to eat here, we usually order them off of Grubhub. We definitely recommend! The only reason why I didn’t give full five stars is because when we first came in, the hostess seemed miserable and acted like we were a burden for coming in. She warmed up after a while but seemed absolutely miserable and it made us feel really uncomfortable. And when we asked for the check, we were still munching on some stuff and talking but the waitress stood over us waiting and then asked for our payment as we’re still eating...

Duo Japanese Restaurant offers a fantastic all-around experience. The food is superb, and the live hibachi chefs provide both delicious meals and high entertainment value right at your table. Between the lively atmosphere, memorable performances, and amazing flavors, it's a dining adventure I highly recommend-and one I'll certainly repeat!
