Quaint little Italian place. Food was pretty decent. Wine was excellent. Service was great. Stop by if you're in the area but sit inside. Mosquitoes are bad in DC for some reason.
I've lived in the DC area for over 32 years now and Italian Kitchen has always been a favorite of mine and my partner whenever we get to Dupont Circle. This past visit was a bit disappointing though. They've changed the menu and it seems drastically reduced. We always would order a half carafe of chianti but it wasn't on the menu. We asked the server about it and he did bring one out, though at $23 it seemed rather pricey. A favorite of ours was always the calamari linguini, but it is no longer on the menu. There's a seafood pasta with shrimp, calamari and mussels, but that sounded kind of busy. I ordered my second favorite, the linguini carbonara and it was unfortunately a little dry. My partner ordered the Pasta Bolognese and they brought Chicken Milanese by mistake. The server apo
Delicious food, great atmosphere. I got the salmon and sauvignon blanc and loved it. Excellent service. All 5 of us loved our meals and experience. We will definitely be coming back soon!
If you want mediocre food that costs an arm and a leg, welcome in. Portions are rationed like were in 2008 post-market crash. Food reminds me of bland British cuisine disguised in bottled marinara. May as well dip the garlic bread in ketchup for some semblance of flavor. Atmosphere is great though!
Based on good reviews we made a reservation during our stay in Washington DC. We ordered bruschetta en fried mozzarella as appetizer! Both appetizers were excellent. As main plate we ordered a spaghetti carbonara, a pasta seafood and a pasta calamares. The three plates were excellent. A few downsizes: no table clothes and a waiter who was not so polite and distant.
