The last and best dive bar left in town. Be prepared and don't expect cocktails or classy wine. The subs are massive and high quality. Come for the subs, stay for the stone fireplace and friendships! Nelly's is the epitome of a local bar. Keep in mind that the shorter PM menu starts at 5, but still has plenty of options. Fantastic happy hour, as well!

Charlottesville’s original dive, the best Irish style bar around, the nicest people, good prices, fireplace, live music, karaoke. The number 1 bar for locals, especially the blue collar crowd that keep the university and things around running. Stoked they are open on Sundays now. Outside it's an unassuming building but there's a lot of charm inside. Durty Nellys is a bar from the 70s and even under new ownership, the bar's ambience is timeless. It feels like your cool uncle's basement. There's live music almost every day. They had standard beer and some craft VA beers. Haven't tried their food yet - but I'll definitely come back.

Pub grub that satisfies. Gets pretty busy during the lunch & evening rush. Very popular workman's lunch stop. The Henny Penny wrap is a generous portion, and with a side of Beer Cheese, makes for a very satiating meal. The chicken is nice and thick cut with good condiments and complemented by their special sauce. The Beer Cheese made for a good dip. The seasoned crackers are also a nice added garnish. -- This is a pretty close quarters location, both for parking and dining. So if you have concerns, you would probably want to take your order to go. -- Men's bathroom was pretty rank.

Don't go on karaoke night!!!! So loud and crowded.
