Came in on Saturday for some donuts and coffee to get my day in Durham started. This is so easy: service: awesome! Coffee: awesome! Donuts (glazed and chocolate iced): if not the best donuts I’ve ever had in my life, easily in the top 3. Treat yourself!
I have heard they have the best apple fritters in Durham. We went twice, months apart, trying to purchase them. This morning the place was totally empty, and the lone employee informed me they had none. I asked if there were specific days? The employee apologetically said, no. "He (I assume the owner) just makes them when he feels like it." Well, I don't feel like going back. Good luck with that business model, empty store guy.
We were visiting my wife in North Carolina and wanted to try this place for breakfast. Initially, I was disappointed that they didn't offer online ordering and pick up because it's so convenient, and it's 2024. I just thought that should be something they have, but when I got there, I understood why they probably couldn't do that. They have donuts that are fillable. You get to choose the flavor of the donuts and then the filling itself. We didn't try any of that variety, but you could tell this is where indecisiveness and hungry shoppers get stuck 😅 The breakfast sandwiches were amazing. I watched the gentlemen make all three of ours. The eggs, the bacon, everything is cooked and assembled right in front of you. I thought the donuts were good but unspectacular. I appreciated how
think these are the best donuts I have ever had. They are the perfect weight and texture. The bacon / egg/ cheese croissant is A1. I also got Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Am trying it for the first time, it is good. I hope I can be in Durham more often so I can eat here.
I ordered an egg, cheese, and sausage croissant, donut holes, and a coffee this morning. My order took no less than 15mins and the sandwich wasn’t edible. The sausage was burnt beyond recognition and the bread was hard and fell apart. I didn’t venture deep enough to check the egg but I have my suspicions. I took a pity bite, really wish I hadn’t. The donut holes were decent and the coffee was coffee flavored, so there’s that. The place seemed great, I had high hopes, and will give them another go. Can’t bash the whole place for one sandwich and, given the opportunity, will gladly review them again with fresh eyes.
