Get there early if you want to be seated. Not that they’re busy. They just stop seating at 6:30. And the $12 fettuccine Alfredo is not worth it. And they really don’t want you there late. Don’t go if it’s gonna be closing soon.

East of Italy is easily one of my favorite places to visit whenever I come to visit New Orleans. I’ve been coming here for years and it’s still amazing and so worth the short drive. I’ve never been able to find anything like this elsewhere. We love it so much that I’ve picked up takeout and taken it with me on my flight out for my family before. Here’s my go-to order: spinach dip appetizer, spinach and artichoke sandwich and tomato basil soup I highly recommend!!

The taste of the food is wonderful! The location of the restaurant isn't that great but we still enjoy it a whole lot.

Delicious Italian spot on the Lake! My family and I enjoy the service, food and ambience. This hidden treasure is a Must dinning experience.

The food here is really good. The service can sometimes leave a lot to be desired. Overall, I would still recommend this location. Just be prepared to have to initiate contact with your waitresses for refills, additional orders, and more. During this visit I ordered the Italian Sausage Flatbread (pictured below), the lunch order of spaghetti and meatballs, and a Shrimp Diavolo to go. The spaghetti and meatballs was still a large enough portion to be full from. You receive (2) meatballs, and a Ceasar salad on one plate. The flatbread appetizer was huge too.
