El Camino Real

Every fall we like to venture from Normal IL for the scenic drive along the river and pick a spot for lunch. This year we ended up at El camino real, and we were not disappointed. Our host/server was very pleasant, and attentive. The decor was typical, festive, and restaurant appeared clean. The obligatory crisp, warm chips and excellent mild salsa were a nice start, with entrees following in a timely manner. Our two oldest kids loved their dishes, and remarked that this was now their favorite Mexican restaurant. Wife and I had carne asada tacos, and enchiladas, both were excellent. Highly recommend!

Good food, been there 3 times over a couple years and always good. Forgot to take pics. Went there June 6th 2024. My favorite Mexican food in the area including keokuk. Back again 2 weeks later, food was basic, bland, not as good, chips salsa bland, no flavor. Disappointed this time. I'll try others in the area again.

So good never disappointed I have been there many times and it's so good If your around you won't be disappointed with there food

Ordered for pickup at drive-thru Jalisco burrito with green sauce, bean & cheese burrito with cheese sauce on top. Was told the cook couldn’t make a bean & cheese burrito but he could make a bean burrito with cheese sauce & put shredded cheese on top of cheese sauce. Received a Bean burrito with cheese sauce No shredded cheese on top I cut the Jalisco burrito open & xxx Not delicious pork tenderloin! Not just a little mix of carnitas, it was a flour tortilla Full of dried up carnitas burnt pieces of tasteless pork!

Amazing as always! I would highly recommend the arroz con pollo, which is delicious!! Service was amazing and the staff is always so friendly! If you are in town, this is a must try!!
