El Maguey Mexican Restaurant

We went on a Thursday afternoon for an early dinner. It wasn’t too busy but by the time we left it was getting pretty busy. We ordered lime margarita, 3 Mexican street taco combo meal (2 carnitas 1 carne asada), the enchilada/taco combo meal, and the taco/tostada combo meal Pros: -their happy hour time is from 11-6 which gives you plenty of time to go in for cheaper drinks with a lunch time meal deal. -the flavor of the carnita and carne asada was good -the chips they give for chips/salsa were fresh and warm, perfect to munch on while you’re waiting for your food Cons: In comparison to other El Maguey locations in STL I felt this location was lacking, specifically: -for corn tortillas with street tacos they just have them steamed in foil which isn’t the way street tacos should be, they

My wife and I came here with expectations of good food and we left happy. Good mixed margaritas, good music-not too loud to chat, and our reasonably priced food was cooked to our liking. Our server was friendly. We will eat here again! We enjoyed the Super Gigante Burrito and the Steak Jalisco.

Went this past Saturday evening and our waitress was fantastic - great personality and anticipating all our needs as we ate. Enchilada San Jose was really good. My wife enjoyed the Choripollo as well. Will definitely return!

Food was delicious. Was there over 20 minutes after getting drinks and waiter never came back to place our order for food. There was only 2 other tables occupied at this time. Finally we went and found a waiter just sitting behind the cash register. The server could have cared less about waiting on us etc. The food was excellent but for the service we won’t be back!

This place is awesome! Been going there for years and never once had anything to complain about. Staff is personable and top notch. Best frozen margaritas around.
