El Pato Mexican Food

One of our clients was raving about their carne guisada taco so I went with him to get some. The carne guisada is nice and tender and no hard fat pieces. I love comino (cumin) and they do add that. Not many places in RGV do from my personal experience. I had the cheese enchilada plate. It was good, the gravy was on the sweet side, the beans were ok—not enough salt and the rice was decent. Nothing spectacular. I’d never had enchiladas with crackers but after seeing a TikTok video about it being normal in RGV I thought I’d try it since they served it with crackers. Eh. Not my thing. I’m originally from San Antonio and I’m used to every dish being served with flour tortillas. Overall this isn’t a bad place but what you’d expect from a fast food place. NEVER AGAIN! I was half way into my taco & found a roach in it! I’m hoping I don’t get sick! They should get an inspection cause my sister a while back algo got food poisoning from this place the cheese was spoiled & every time we call & complain they claim to either not have spoiled things or no roaches! This is so disgusting. They offered me a refund or a new order of course i got my refund I will NO LONGER BE EATING FROM THIS PLACE!

This restaurant needs to pay attention to what they are handing the consumer. These are not even cooked correctly and are small and thick, they didnt even roll them out to their potential size. Person in charge tried to blame a new masa they recieved, but I had to re-cook them at home and they were fine. Just put a little more effort to give what you advertise. It's really sad how bad this location has gotten. Especially because I've enjoyed this location since high school. And now it isnt even worth it.

Not expensive to dine here. Simple but great menu. Hoping they expand with more restaurants in different cities soon! Just the regular beef or chicken 'Pato' hit the spot and make you want to come back later for more. The tortillas are all handmade in each restaurant, and you can tell! So many memories here as a child and the recipe is still the same.
