El Pollo Rico

This was my first time trying El Pollo Rico. I had a craving for a baked potato so did a search and found their Papa Asada ($9.99) which comes with cheese, meat, sour cream and jalapeño. I ordered thru the drive thru and the attendant was nice. I also ordered a small chips and salsa ($3.19). There was 1 car ahead of me and I waited for only a minute. The ladies at the window were smiling and had a friendly demeanor. I had my poodle with me and they seemed to enjoy his presence. A little smile goes a long way with regard to customer service and weighs heavy when I’m reviewing. The potato was a little undercooked but not a deal breaker as it was very tasty. We love you Pollo Rico but it’s 2026 and you still have us signing receipts like it’s 1986. Come on guys… I just spent $10 on two tacos… you can afford a decent credit card merchant. But your food service and salsa is so excellent that we will keep signing receipts until we get carpal tunnel If that’s what it takes😂

I just love El Pollo Rico their food has always been very tasty 😋 When I drive up to the drive thru window the smell of the parrilla transports me back to my Abuelita house in México. I highly recommend this place for some great delicious Mexican fast food. 🫶

Ordered the Whole chicken meal for my family. Chicken is great! Very flavorful and tender! Kids loved it! Side of rice and beans are also great but portion size is a little small for a “family” meal! A little pricey for a whole chicken (compared to HEB rotisserie) BUT the flavor is unmatched! Used the drive thru and ordered and received food within 10 min!

Love this place, we always get a chicken and it’s delicious, smells incredibly, fresh, served with small sized hot tortillas, 2 types of salsa, beans, rice and grilled onion. Cheese Nachos are also very good. All the time we take away the food but I wish the place inside could be more clean and comfy! Fast and friendly spanish speaking service.
