El Progreso Mexican Restaurant

The greatest breakfast burritos in Orange County. For those of you who miss Carmel’s on El Toro and Rockfield, you can order an Armando burrito (potato, egg, cheese, beans) at El Progreso and it tastes exactly the same. Love this place.

The bathrooms here are absolutely disgusting. One of the worst bathrooms I've ever been in. I was literally gagging trying to pee. I decided to hold it in. I hope that this food doesn't get me sick. Buyer beware.

Always the best menudo in town. There's a woman up front making fresh tortillas. The staff is friendly.

Love this restaurant. Been coming here for years. The food is reliably good. I really enjoy the breakfast: huevos rancheros with papitas! They make fresh corn tortillas in the restaurant and the service is always friendly. It's a mom and pop place so expect quality over thrills. The dining room is always clean and welcoming.

We stopped here for lunch. My wife had the taquitos and I had the Al Pastor nachos. The taquitos were good. The nachos were just what I like. Light, delicious chips and the right amount of cheese and beans. While the Al Pastor didn't appear to be cooked on a spit, it was delicious! Clarification on the atmosphere which is (again) the way I like it. No frills and clean.
