El Rey del Lechon

First of all, let me start by saying that I am Cuban, born and raised in the countryside. I say this to make it clear that I know what a good roasted pig tastes like. We hired El Rey del Lechón (The King of Roastede Pig) for my nephew's 15th birthday party, which includede roasted pig, congrís and yuca. I am very disappointed with the service. The pork arrived completely burnt on the outside and over cooked on the inside. When we contacted the owner, he told us that this was his style and that we were wrong, that it wasn't burnt. When we tasted it, we were able to confirm what we had already observed. It tasted like burnt and overcooked meat. Here are some photos we took; you can draw your own conclusions. Fantastic place. Fantastic people. Fantastic food. Extremely recommended. Ps when coming south on krome ave there is a left straight into el Rey del Lechon google sent me around 3 extra miles

Great lechon, tamales were good. Pan con lechon great. Open picnic table lay out, plenty of fans keep it cool. Great service, variety, el churrascaso grill too. Will love to come back.

We were served by Yanelys, it was a pleasure for her wonderful service. The owner Elso was very friendly, he sat at our table and it was very pleasant, remembering our roots, the restaurant serves delicious Cuban food, including pork sandwiches, roast pork and tamales.

It was late night on a Saturday, I was looking for Nicaraguan food but everything near would be closed by 9:30. That is how I ended up at El Rey del Lechon. Looking for something else, I noticed this spot, and best if all, it has a Nicaraguan food truck, and the food was AMAZING!!! the service was also incredible! and they were very attentive, so I will definitely go again 😀
