For 30 years now I've lived almost across the street from Santa Rosa Ave North 505 location. I remember when the truck first parked here, a couple years ago, Competition with our beloved one and only neighborhood taqueria located across the street. I tried the food truck a few times and while it’s difficult to have someone answer the phone for an order, we finally tried it once or twice, especially when our usual neighborhood taqueria closed early. The truck's food was not bad, actually tasty, and average affordable taco truck prices. I liked that they use by default, whole beans and the salsa is tasty. El Roy’s Express Mex is easily one of the best taco trucks I’ve ever had. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the quality was top-notch. We tried a variety of items—gorditas, tacos, and sopes—with different meats like adobada, carne asada, chicken, and chorizo, and everything was cooked to perfection. The tortillas were fresh, the meats were well-seasoned and tender, and the toppings tied everything together beautifully. Their salsas, both green and red, added the perfect kick, enhancing the flavors without overpowering them. And their pickled carrots? My fave food truck for: burritos, tacos dorados, quesadillas, mexidogs. Their sauteed shrimp is soooo good, it comes in a creamy sauce with onions. Their refried beans are the best, and the kids get bean and cheese burritos often. Oh and their green salsa! Drinkable. Call ahead to order to avoid the looooong lines at peak times.

Got the taco special with shrimp and asada, plus an extra al pastor taco on the side, and everything was very tasty! They take orders in spanish and english. There are tables there for eating outside. Their truck looks very clean and their food assembly is quick and well-organized, even when the line gets long. I parked across the street, though there are parking spots right next to the truck. Their salsa is not hot, and it is tasty. Check 'em out!

I travel from Santa Barbara just to enjoy these tacos from time to time. Amazing food and excellent service!
