El Taco

This has always been one of my favorite taco spots, which is why this was so disappointing. I drove in from two cities away and arrived 15 minutes before closing, but although staff were clearly inside, no one opened the door.I have a video that isn’t uploaded of employees inside but not attending to customers. Very disappointing. If your posted hours say you’re open until a certain time, customers should be able to rely on that. I understand wanting to close up after a long day, but this felt unprofessional and was honestly heartbreaking after making the drive just for your tacos. I hope this was just a one-time situation, because I’ve always loved the food here.

Whenever I’m in Downey, this is my go to spot. The food is fresh, the service is great and quick! The drive thru is super convenient when I get my usual, chicken taquitos, chile relleno burrito or bean and cheese burrito with an orange bang. We love El Taco in my family, such a staple!

Green burritos are not what they once were. My four biggest observations: 1. The burritos hot tiny. They used to be about twice as big 2. The green salsa was not very spicy. It was green lava before 3. Still no restrooms for customers. Even though the place looks renovated... but didn't think to add a restroom? Bad move. 4. The older lady taking orders either had an attitude, felt she was doing you a favor by simply being there, or just plain needs to learn good customer service skills. The younger girl preparing the orders saved my visit by communicating like a normal person (older lady barely acknowledged me).

This is the OG place and it's all the best food. It's sooo tasty. It was so good and I was so excited to get to have it I mowed it down and forgot to take pics. I had a sloppy Joe combo and we shared a red sauce quesadilla and washed it down with a piña colada bang! Perfectly satisfying.

Dinner main food gets all mixed up with entries. Rice and beans looks like soup. Chili Relleno is too hard and chees too thick to cut. BURITOS same thing.
