If you don't care that the food is not towards the Mexican side, and more Texan/American style, then this place might be right up your alley. If you want to introduce someone to Mexican flavors, but not overwhelm them, this night be the spot, but it definitely wasn't for me. I wanted to try as many things as I could, so I orderd a combination platter, a whole lot of food for the price for sure -Chill Relleno was exceptional, beautifully executed -Shredded Beef Enchilada, tasted like Birria, was yummy nonetheless -Chicken in the Tamale was a big chunk of a chicken breast which was dry as the Sahara dessert, wish it was shredded, and wasn't covered in Salsa Verde and Cheese, couldn't really taste the masa - Not a fan of the yellow rice, parboiled, box rice, wasn't Spanish Rice -Pinto Bean

El Tio Tex-Mex Grill – Craving Satisfied! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’d been craving steak fajitas for a while, so I stopped by El Tio Tex-Mex Grill in Falls Church for lunch — and they did not disappoint. The restaurant has a clean, cozy vibe with a relaxed, welcoming feel. Service was friendly right from the start. They brought out complimentary chips and salsa with water as soon as I sat down — a nice touch. I ordered the chicken soup and the steak fajitas — both were delicious. The fajitas came out sizzling, and the steak was tender, juicy, and flavorful. They served it up with the full set: avocado, tomatoes, rice, beans, sour cream, grilled onions — everything you’d want, all fresh and well-prepared. The price was reasonable, and the whole experience hit the spot. I’ll definitely be coming back

super crowded, the food was not spectacular, and service was alright. I know this is definitely a family restaurant but the amount of chaos in there from the children screaming (yes i know this is not the restaurant’s fault) to the waiters being so busying trying to man other tables leaving some waiting longer than others, this was not the best dining experience i’ve had. the food was also not amazing. the ceviche was very fishy despite it trying to be drowned out with citrus, parsley?, onion, and ginger. i’ve never had any ceviche with ginger in it but im pretty sure they only did that cuz the fish was extremely fishy. AND even with the ginger i could still taste that the fish was not fresh and clear flavors of parsley in there that’s not normally in the dish. my carne asada was cooked to

As tex-mex goes, this is a decent spot. The steak quesadillas are very good with a great texture and taste. The nachos were disappointing and were smaller with fewer toppings than advertised. A number of the drinks are mixed pretty sweet, so try asking for half sweetness if possible. The large lime margarita was pretty good and more balanced than some of the others drinks. The house chips and salsa were very tasty.

Expensive but worth it, this just might be the best Tex-Mex in the entire DMV. Their meat is always tender and succulent (pause) plus every dish comes with its own side of guacamole/sour cream/salsa. The refried beans and rice are the only things I would classify as subpar.
