I love diners like this. They give you real portions at a great price. Food is delicious and I hope they stay around forever.
I’ve been to this restaurant for many many years with my grandfather, a white American, and service was usually fine. But today I came in with my daughter, and the experience was insulting. The waitress told me to sit wherever, so I did. I sat there for over 15 minutes while my daughter cried for milk, and this waitress walked past me multiple times without a word. Then, a group of four walked in after me and—what do you know—she rushed right over to greet them, showed them their table, and take their order like I was invisible. I guess my skin color made me less of a paying customer. Maybe I’m just “too Asian” to deserve basic service here. So, I left. 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ellie May’s Diner is a true gem! I stopped in for breakfast and was seriously impressed. The frittata was absolutely amazing—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the staff made me feel right at home. The atmosphere is super cute, cozy, and spotless, which really adds to the charm of the place. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping by Ellie May’s for a delicious start to your day. I’ll definitely be back!
Quick breakfast. Decent portions. We had a ham & cheese omelet, eggs and hash w sausage gravy. Interior is very dated. Old seats and older utensils. $12 for an omelet and $6 for hash seems pricey. But it was quick and hit the spit.
It’s a quaint diner. Decor is fun. Service is good enough. Food is as expected for a diner. Prices aren’t high. Nothing makes this place stand out necessarily, it’s a good diner. Worth the visit.
