Stumbled upon this cute coffee shop and immediately noticed the long but fast moving line which is a good sign! They're a true one stop shop for coffee lovers, offering great service, delicious hot latte, and a plethora of bean options for home brewing. I loved that they have a machine to grind the beans right there, plus they sell various card games, tea, and coffee appliances. The cost is also very reasonable. The Downside: I was disappointed they don't make cold brew. My iced coffee had a slight French vanilla or sweet note which isn't to my personal taste, but overall, they are definitely worth checking out for the quality beans and unique selection!
Empire Coffee & Tea Company – Hoboken I’ve been going to Empire Coffee for a minute now, and I swear this place has its claws in me in the best way. It’s one of those spots you wander into once and suddenly you’re like, “Wow, guess I’m a regular now.” And honestly? Proud of it. I’ve basically worked my way through half their menu at this point—hot, iced, seasonal. I recently decided I’m entering my Black Coffee Era (character development), and their black coffee actually tastes like… coffee. Not burnt water. Not overpriced bitterness. Just genuinely good, rich brew for like two bucks. The vibe inside is exactly the kind of chill I need before I attempt being a functional human. The staff is young, friendly, and has that effortless cool energy that makes you feel welcome without being wei
They have the BEST gluten free muffins. So soft and fluffy. They make a great sweet matcha too. I occasionally like to add caramel or pistachio flavoring to it. Also love to buy a box of Harney & Sons green tea packets from here.
The most community focused and supportive cafe in Hoboken. Great coffee that you don’t need to mortgage your apartment to afford. Wonderful service (the redhead barista absolutely makes my day!). During Covid and the political fallouts, they never changed their prices, service or got into silliness that prevents them from over-delivering a good product with a supportive smile!
Sacks of roasted coffee beans lined in rows like a market in Marrakech, the smell makes my mornings. You need to ask them to scoop them for you. Really great drip coffee - I usually get a decaf with cream. The lattes are good as well, though I avoid the flavoured coffee as they contain way too much sweetener for my taste. If you are in the neighbourhood ask for a punchcard towards a free coffee... they won't necessarily ask if you want one.
