I am a born and raised Ethiopian(21 years). The food ona great day was a 6.5/10 being very honest. But for Seattle's Ethiopian food standard scene ,a 7.5/10 is the best you'll ever get (Zagol and Shewaber). You might not know but, Ethiopian food is catagorized as Vegan and Non-Fasting (meat/dairy) interms of taste profile. The vegan food here was very mediocre. I dined here almost a dozen times. The non-fasting food, is a 6.5/10 too. The vegan dishes are harder to make because they don't have animal fats so they have to be fresh. Which I don't blame them. I had better Veggie dishes at Shewa Ber Restaurant (Shiro, Misir, Firfir) so give that a go as well (7/10). They tend to overcook the meat and underseason the Ethiopian spices. I recommend the Awaze Tibs, Kitfo(Medium Rare) and Doro for
We shared the Enat combination and it was plenty for 2 people before a show. I am grateful they offer a gluten free version of injera (teff only). The coffee was sublime. Food was flavorful and excellent. It has a cool hole in the wall vibe that felt homey. Our server was lovely and had the perfect balance of checking in and leaving us alone. We'll definitely be back.
They used to be the best in 5/6 years ago, but now on They just providing garbage supposed to food. For example shiro made from weeks , raw meat / kurt/ sees personal face , their injera never being easy for digestive system ...supposed to be reviewed by health department or business to be closed. I suggested customers to go other restaurants near there.
Enat serves a huge portion of food for a great price and are generous with the injera. Even the gluten free injera! They served 3 pieces with a combo (not including the one on the plate, 4 total) and it was $24! This place is arguably one of the best food values in Seattle. You can easily feed 3 people on a single combo. The combo quality was okay, the meat was kind of tough and dry but well flavored. There are two portions of cabbage+potato, a spinach and a romaine salad. Had a side of shiro wot was good. They serve gluten free injera on request! It seemed fresh and was good. It’s the best Ethiopian restaurant for getting gluten free. There was no up-charge for us but not sure if that was the norm. The service was quick and friendly. They take Apple Pay.
Delicious food! I’m not an avid Ethiopian eater so I have no point of reference there, but the food was delicious, fresh, and great portions for prices. My husband and I split the Enat combination and had plenty of leftovers! The service was also really good 😁 I would eat here again.
