Erie Mansion

Fun experience! Erie Mansion is allegedly haunted so my mom and I checked it out. It was a fun get away and the owner had a story for every item and gave us a nice tour. We enjoyed ourselves.

I had a good time. I was in New York for my dad's burial. I stayed at the Erie Mansion to relax. Mark was very nice w and personable. He is the real life Monopoly man. The tour was fun. Secret rooms, stairs to nowhere I was moved to the Eerie room which was wonderful. I didn't see any ghosts but my car alarm went off and the candles flickered at times. Breakfast was at a restaurant in a gas station. The food was very good. He drove us in a Cadillac limo. The other days it was me so I picked one of the other cars. I love older houses and their quirks. It was a relaxing week in the country. I wish I brought my bicycles

I needed to go to Marion, NY for my father's burial and was trying to find a place to stay near Palmyra or Newark. Then the Erie Mansion came up in my feed. It was a little further away but looked like a lot of fun. I wanted to stay somewhere unique and different. My stay started in the Red Suite. I couldn't do breakfast on Friday, May 16th due to the burial. Mark and his lovely wife were nice enough to pack me fruit, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. Perfect. The next day I was driven by a black Cadillac limo to a gas station, that served breakfast in the back area. The breakfast was delicious. I did the tour which is a must. Hidden rooms, stairs to nowhere, history of the mansion, potential haunted rooms. Mark has a passion for the house, cars and history of this wonderful mansion.

This place is fantastic. We stayed there just recently - a week before Halloween. This is the type of place that isn't your "normal" bed & breakfast. It's not for EVERYONE, but if you want a real out-of-the-ordinary experience, this rates as one. The staff is very attentive, the owner is hospitable and approachable. He's very proud of what he has put together and you can tell if you go on the tour of the house. The rooms are clean and comfortable (if not a little bit weird, but that's the whole point).This isn't your typical B&B - meaning don't go here if you just want a place to sleep for the night. it's a legitimate "experience". It is 100% unforgettable and unique.

DO NOT STAY HERE! We were cycling the Erie Canal Trail and Clyde was a convenient location. We booked a room here but refused to sleep here. It smelled terrible, was dusty, and we doubted the cleanliness of the sheets. There was no shampoo or conditioner. The back door does NOT lock. Anyone can enter and come up the back staircase. The fire alarms all had out of order signs on them. We asked about breakfast the next morning and the host said he would pick us up at 9 am in his car and drive us to breakfast. A nightmare of a place!
