Fairlington Pizza

Extreme disappointment !!!!! Ordered take out but pizza was served luke warm at best Super thick, doughy, absolutely no resemblance of nyc pizza No crunch No char Lacking major flavor Just super doughy and cheesy on a flappy slice Extreme disappointment.

Count me a fan of Fairlington Pizza which I have frequented for many years. The pizzas are excellent as is the cheeseburger, my new favorite. Nick the owner is a warm, generous soul who lives in the community, is a graduate of the local high school and a continuing booster both of local and civic activities. He has created a warm, comfortable establishment with a courteous staff and an excellent menu. Although at times parking can be a challenge, the food always makes up for it.

Ordered via Uber eats so my rating is just about the food. Normally I don't review Uber orders because I feel it doesn't give the restaurant a fair shot, however the driver did an excellent job and all the food showed up piping hot so I feel confident in reviewing this food. Pizza is my favorite food, I look forward to my pizza cheat meal each week to try a new spot or an old staple. Based on reviews I was looking forward to this joint. However IMO it doesn't really live up to the hype. I got a small pepperoni za, chicken wings and fries. All the food I got just tasted like basic, run of the mill food. It reminded me of the food at my high school football games concession stand, or the food you get in a movie theater. Nothing outstanding. The term juvenile comes to mind, I feel like kids

Okay, so. This is my place, I absolutely love Fairlington's, I can't believe I haven't reviewed it before. Been going there for about a year. Here are the strengths: Extremely personable staff. I don't mean chatty, just, very warm people to be around. Very efficient as well. It's a friendly, local place; if you go in there regularly, they'll remember your order, that sort of thing. It's a small place, but full of character, and I like that. They've got two or so tables outside but I've never used them, I prefer to eat inside. The cheesecake is STUPID good. Listen. LISTEN. After devouring my last x-large pizza from Fairlington Pizza, I was drooling at the thought of getting another. Today, I ordered another x-large with sausage and meatball, with extra sauce (delicious!) and cooked crisp. Their dough is really outstanding and is NY style, so not a lot of thick, heavy dough. I SHOULD skip the outer crust for calories’ sake, but it’s so good! I just had to try their meatballs, so I also got a meatball sub. It was very good, but I have to say it just cannot compete with my family’s recipe which originated from Sicily via gramma. I have worked decades mastering Mom’s particular take on her mom’s recipe.
