Famous Ray's Pizza

Max at the front desk was absolutely amazing. He is extremely skilled in the kitchen and is always happy to make the customer happy. We ordered pizza a meatball sub calzone and wings and it all came out absolutely perfectly. Him and the young woman working with him were friendly and easily approachable. I am so happy to hear the hours have changed making it more accessible for people who work nights. I will absolutely stay a regular here. Also Max deserves his photo on the wall😂.

I want to give a special shoutout to the young woman and young man working at Famous Ray’s Pizza on Bell and 7th Street on the night of January 15, 2026. Even during a late shift, they were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind — not just to customers, but to me as an Uber driver picking up an order. Too often, service workers’ energy changes the moment they realize I’m not there as a paying customer, especially on later nights. It’s been discouraging and honestly hurtful, particularly because I deeply value good customer service myself. I care about how people treat one another, and it makes me sad how unpleasant some people choose to be. That’s why this experience stood out so much. These two were different — gracious, respectful, and pleasant from start to finish. They clearly work well

Ordered 3 things. Pizza, garlic knots, and wings. Pizza - A solid 1 out of 10. The cheese didn't taste good, there wasn't cheese covering all of the dough, the pizza dough was tasteless and annoyingly chewy, and the sausage is cut thinly to skim folks, you know, $$$. The garlic knots- 3 out of 10. They are overseasoned and inconsistent. The "sauce" whether that is marinara or pizza sauce (it didn't specify on the website) was very sugary. The wings- 4 out of 10. They weren't extra crispy. They were, in fact, soggy and the hot sauce was watery. The extra hot sauce was also non-existent. The ranch- 0 out of 10. It is not housemade. That should be a staple at pizza joints that represent other states that are known for good pizza. I have family from Philadelphia, New York, and Delaware.

These guys are unbelievable. The nicest person I’ve ever met making pizzas, and the pizza itself is insane. The dough, the ingredients, everything hit the spot. We had a big group, He made us 10 pizzas with a smile on his face the entire time. Amazing!

So after moving to AZ from UTAH the pizza there was definitely nothing not good at all even when business claim to be NYC style pizza. So being said as a New Yorker born and raised you know the difference between really good pizza. This place says it's New York Style I disagree. First off New Yorker pizza cheese is real cheese and Famous Ray's cheese isn't that and I can tell by the their cheese separating and it doesn't have that cheese melt to it. Secondly they sauce is to salty I mean seriously people don't call it Famous Ray's if you can live up to the New York Famous Ray's. I bet the pizza wouldn't look nothing like what I eat 2x and trust me I think that was enough. I think, I'll try the other competitors and hopefully I'll get lucky.
