We went here during restaurant week so we got to try a lot of different things. The gumbo is really delicious with good heat. I also liked the salad. We liked the crawfish toast. We were split on the bread pudding. The chocolate mouse appears to be a restaurant menu only item and not quite my favorite texture. Come here for a leisurely meal. It may take time to place your order. Staff were friendly and asked us about pork dietary restrictions. I recommend making a reservation but you can probably make it only a couple days out.
Stopped for a late lunch. Everything was awesome. Patti my server was so nice with recommendations to make my meal better. They had a prix fixe lunch menu and I got there just as happy hour was starting for $12 cocktails. Had the Dirty Cajun, the Rum and Rye, and finished with the My Cherry Amore. All great cocktails. The vegetarian gumbo was excellent and the pimento cheese was great. Going to come back and try all the drinks. Just sitting here after finishing my food and drinks and soaking in the atmosphere. Really the service is exceptional and I definitely would recommend!
This place was an absolute vibe. We walked in on a Saturday around 1 PM and somehow lucked out with bar seating—already a win. I highly recommend starting with an appetizer, especially since they offer a bottomless brunch special on weekends (dangerous in the best way). My boyfriend and I posted up at the bar and were immediately taken care of. He ordered the chicken and beignets, and I went with the garlic shrimp and grits—and honestly, I have zero notes. No tweaks, no suggestions, no “next time I’d do this differently.” The food was phenomenal, start to finish. The vibe? Even better. The bartender made a mean Old Fashioned—balanced, smooth, and strong in all the right ways. Then came the real showstopper: a live jazz trio that absolutely blew our minds. The music filled the room withou
I'm glad I finally made it here. It's a lovely place. It does give a jazzy, New Orleans vibe. The bar is long and they have ample seating around the room. They have good Happy Hour deals which include some food. I had the Hush Puppies which come with some maple butter on the side, which is delicious and the Char grilled Oysters are equally 😋. The Cocktails are top notch. It's pricey but like I mentioned above they have good Happy Hour deals. The service is very good. I would definitely go back.
There aren’t many authentic Cajun spots left in NYC, and Filé definitely fills that gap. Food and drinks were delicious— my favorite was the grilled oysters. Warm and friendly service, and a free show if you sit at the bar where you can watch the chef.
