I tried this place before returning home from Williamsburg and was delighted. I was greeted warmly by the waitress Lex, who exemplifies the charm and hospitality of the town. The food portions were quite generous and carefully prepared. The omelette was cooked to perfection and the ingredients were all finely chopped and sauteed to a pleasant consistency. The potatoes were finely shredded and fried with just enough oil to be tasty but not heavily-laden with grease. I will definitely stop by again the next time I am in town.
A true diner feel! Small, staff is welcoming and friendly. Our server was attentive, food was hot. I will definitely be back!
I've driven by this diner /cafe and have always wanted to try it! The outside of the building is quite inviting with its colorful red, white and blue exterior! We were seated right away, and the place was busy! Our server was pretty "matter of fact" - no pleasantries or smiles! Let's get down to business and order our breakfast! Well okay! I do love diners like this one, no nonsense, 70's orange vibe, classic menu! The grits and eggs were great, my bacon didn't come out like I ordered it and our server put in for more, but it never came. They were busy, so no worries, she adjusted the bill. My favorite thing? The toasted cornbread!! Yummy! The pancakes were huge! We will be back and I have a feeling they may get an extra star next time! Breakfast served all day, closes at 2:00.
I waited kind of a long time awkwardly to get a table which was awkward. The food was about as ok as you would expect. The food that was good was perfectly fine but not blow your mind stellar, but the hash browns actually tasted like the griddle burn. I've gone to a lot of diners and purchase hash browns pretty much every time I get breakfast. I have never had them taste like that, even at the dirtiest looking waffle house I've gone to. So under what circumstance would the food even get that taste? The waitress I got was incredibly nice, I felt welcome by her at least, and the other waitress while I didn't speak to her, she seemed a-ok to me. It's pleasant and cozy enough in there, so I can see why people might like it, but ambience isn't enough for me. I wouldn't go out of my way to come
Excellent breakfast with big portions and large, delicious pancakes. Great and friendly service.
