Flavor Boom! Kendall Square

I have tried a few other Flavor Boom locations so I was excited to see another one, this time in Cambridge and right around the corner from my favorite boba shop! The interior is spacious and inviting, the prices are reasonable, and the food tastes like what I remember. Had to get the beef rendang, and the flavor was still just as good as I remember. The meat could be more tender. The soup is perfect for sopping up with a bread roll or rice. We got the eggplant side, which was a generous portion for the price, but the flavor is a bit too sour for me. They're doing a 25% off deal right now so the prices are even more reasonable! We got everything for less than $15, and it served as dinner for two. I can definitely see myself picking up food from here in the future.

Such a nice meal to hunker down with on a snowy Sunday. Honestly, thought this place looked a little gimmicky when they first opened in Kendall last year, but the concept actually worked. It’s essentially Asian-style (Malaysian, Japanese, Korean etc) comfort stews served fast-casual. Because the meat is stewed in batches, the portions were way more generous than typical rice bowl spots. Not exactly “cooked to order" in the traditional sense, but I guess the trade-off is consistency. You get flavorful and tender meat no matter what time of day you walk in. Only thing I didn't really enjoy was the shrimp curry.

Their food is simple yet delicious, with generous portions. It’s perfect for takeout or dining in their clean, well-kept seating area. Don’t forget to try their desserts—the tiramisu cups are especially yummy!

Just ordered the shrimp and braised beef. The shrimp was too spicy for me to enjoy but would be really good if the heat level was a little lower. The braised beef was so good though. Really tender and flavorful.

Ordered large red glazed pork, basically the rice at bottom is all drenched in oil, and the pork is lack of flavor. The meal is just filled with oil that I can’t even finish because it felt like drinking oil.
