Formosa Restaurant

We hadn't been to Formosa Restaurant in a long time and I think we've been missing out! I'm not usually a big soup guy, but the sour and hot soup was probably my favorite thing there. I will probably get lo mein noodles instead of fried rice because I'm very particular about my fried rice, but I think most people would like this fried rice quite a bit. Dani was our waitress and even though it wasn't very busy at lunch yet, she was running around to take care of people as quickly as possible and was very friendly and helpful! The egg drop soup was really good as well as the wonton soup. The egg rolls were more like spring rolls but they were good and basically everything there was very good. Had dinner with a friend here last night. Food was amazing, decor was charming, and service was quick and courteous. The menu had a vegan/vegetarian section, plus multiple plant-based options under each other section. Would recommend!

First-rate service here 😊 and I enjoyed their oolong tea from teapot and small cup, the eggplant and zucchini-tofu-cashew dishes, and the fried fish appetizer. I didn’t think the sauce went too well with the fish.

Probably the worst customer experience I’ve ever received. Waited over 2+ hours for my to go order that “slipped through the cracks” on a large order with a good tip included. Got one single “sorry” said to me and that was it. No discount or coupon to remedy the unjust wait time. Not to mention what seems like several obvious health code violations. Exposed top fish tank with electrical wires inches away (with fish far too big with too little space), Crumbling and stained drop ceiling, and workers handling money and customers then straight to preparing silverware to dine in customers. Interesting how families of 3-6 people came to dine in, had their whole experience, and left; meanwhile, I am in the dark with not even an expected wait time update. Service was good, we enjoyed the egg rolls, fried rice, hot and sour soup, and wontons. However, that was it. My husband got the jalapeño chicken and more than half the dish was large pieces of jalapeño. He likes spicy food, but even that was too spicy for him. There was hardly any chicken in it. I got the mu shu pork and it smelled like the inside of a garbage can. It tasted like it too. I couldn’t eat it. It was something like $30 for both of us and it was definitely not worth it. It may be awhile before we go back if we go at all. The condiments on the table were so dirty. They had a sticky film on them and lint was stuck all over it.
