Shut up. Get here now if you can. We were in the city visiting friends and they brought us here. We had a little bit of everything (meatballs, arancini, lamb skewers, porchetta sliders, carbonara, and 3 different pizzas. Everything was delicious. Our friends live within walking distance and we are very jealous.
Delightful ambience and food at the "Speakeasy" style restaurant Forno. Walk through the curtains to the main dining area. If you're early, sit on one of the couches or the side table. The pizzas are amazing and the drinks are fun and tasty.
Vibey, low light, cozy atmosphere. Food was amazing. The pizza is so good. We had the Goat pizza and the Fennel pizza. We loved both. We had the fried artichoke appetizer, which we absolutely loved. We took additional pizzas to go home with. The co-owner was very friendly and chatty and made us feel very welcome. Excellent service. They have legit Italian sodas and very authentic flavors. Absolutely will be back. *When you walk in it looks like the abandoned lab of a mad scientist but just keep walking straight, move the red curtain and you'll find the "speakeasy".
The porchetta sliders were super flavorful. The arancini equally so. We split the beef cheeks over polenta (which was a special) and it was incredible. The beef was tender and delightfully rich and perfectly matched by the creamy polenta. We'll definitely come back.
We went there this past Saturday for my Birthday celebration. We went early, had a reservation for 12 people at 5 pm. Everything was amazing! The staff, food and atmosphere (is soo fun)! Best salads I have eaten in forever, great calamari and the pasta dish (rigatoni) with a light cream sauce and I believe pistachios (but don't quote me on that) that I orderd was delish. As good as I have had in the Maryland/DC area! Parking was easy, at the funeral home next door. Very friendly owner who welcomed us to park there for free! We will be back! :)
