Fort Bend County Libraries - George Memorial Library

Very nice library with amazing selections! Love the computer games, checkout toys, and read aloud books. Nice staff and very clean. I like that they have very separate areas for adults, middle school, high school, and younger kids.

Great library for adults and kids. I love the separate areas for little kids (books) and teens (books). Teen area also has a board game room. Bathrooms are Ok. Internet Café area is only a couple seats/tables and a vending machine.

The library itself is nice and spacious. It also tries to highlight things from the community. The week I was there they were displaying local photography. They also sell some books they are taking out of their stock - be sure to take cash for those. There are also classes for various interests held here and other area libraries. Soon they will be opening a “things” library where you can check out various items for your kitchens, tools, etc. They are definitely trying to stay relevant in today’s electronic age.

The library has reopened to the public since March 15, 2021. And the used books for sale courtesy of the “Friends of the Library” is also open. There is a book drop by the wall for returns, then next to it are shelves for items-on-hold arranged alphabetically by patron’s last name. Right in the middle of the room is a help desk with friendly library staff to help with anything. There are also 2 self-checkout machines nearby that are easy to use. There are several sections and rooms to explore in this huge library, but they are all clearly labeled. The audio/video section is on the second floor. There is a free wifi for use. There are computers for public use as well as private desks for reading/working. I believe there are rooms one can reserve for small or big group meetings. There is
