Founders House Pub & Patio

Went to Founders House last night with my husband for dinner. I had the Angel Hair Piedmontese and he had the Fish and Chips. We felt the food was very overpriced for the quality. The meals were pretty basic, nothing special. Drinks and service were good. Nice atmosphere. Overall I didn’t love it and probably wouldn’t go back, but maybe their nicer seafood dishes are a better bang for your buck.

Founders house is an upscale restaurant. I’ve been going here for years and the service is hit or miss. Service is hit or miss - If you sit in the bar area service is definitely better than the dining area. It is always very busy. Wish they extended their hours so they were open later. Sometimes they are open later nights than others, seems inconsistent and wish they updated their hours on Google to reflect correctly. The food is consistent and very good. You get what you pay for here. I typically get the chicken which is phenomenal and an espresso martini which depending on the bartender can vary. Overall, if you’re looking for a nice dinner, I would recommend this place. You can’t go wrong.

My husband took me here for our first wedding anniversary, and we had a lovely experience. For appetizers we got the think cut candied bacon chop, the roasted blue point oysters trio, and the creamy seafood bisque. All of these were delicious, especially the bacon chop: easily the best I've ever had, delicious candied glaze. For entrees, I got the Berkshire pork chop, which also had an absolutely delectable glaze and was so juicy. My husband got the pan-seated scallops, and he loved them. Finally, we got the carrot cake for two, but it should have been called the carrot cake for four since it was huge! Very yummy frosting. The restaurant was very clean with friendly staff. Came here for the first time because my girlfriend wanted Alaskan king crab legs for her birthday. They advertise "Colossal" Alaskan King crab legs. What a joke. These were the skinniest king crab legs we ever ordered from anywhere and for $175. Definitely don't order them from here. Not worth the money. False advertising. Manager wouldn't discount them. Pretty much said, take it or leave it. Won't be coming back. Save your money and go somewhere else.

The place is really nice, and I was seated right away. The waitress was helpful, kind and patient. The whole waitstaff was nice, and I commend them because I watched some out of control crazy loudmouth lady completely berate a couple of them because she felt the music was too loud. The gentleman she was with looked defeated, and the staff moved her seat and handled her beautifully. The food was timely and had some flavor to it!
