Used them for tax prep for 2 years. Received a cryptic email that the accountant resigned and the firm was not going to absorb his clients. I just got a letter (April 2025) from the IRS that my 2023 taxes were never filed. Negligent. Contacted the firm and someone is resolving it, but they never even apologized or assumed responsibility. Now I understand the retirement email. 0/10 would not recommend.

We used Alex for two years of our personal and corporate tax returns. I am still dealing notices from the IRS of "Revised Balance" due their work, it's amassed about $45k in additional checks, and I have pivoted to a new CPA who is helping unravel and navigate this. At a high level he was scattered with emails, review of documents, and I had to call, and email multiple times to get any response, and when I did it was never in a collected and thoughtful way but would come in 5 or 6 sporadic emails with questions, usually which had already been answered. I was too swamped with new baby, running the businesses and moving to pivot when I saw the red flags, and stuck with him to get through 2021, but I would not recommend using them.

This firm is THE BEST IN MARIN, period. I started with these folks in 1987. My guy was Steve Cherwon, the 2nd name in the firm. He was, and is, even though he is now retired, AWESOME. I have worked with Norm Capper indirectly in my business life - another man of intelligence and integrity. I now have Dan Hale, the next generation of folks at FCC. He is a man of our moment; he works remotely sometimes, at the office sometimes, and he has been to my home as well! GREAT SERVICE! These guys have forgotten more about individual and small business taxes than most CPA's will ever know. They are fairly priced, too.
