Fritanga Monimbo Palmetto Bay

Fritanga Monimbo Restaurant is not a fancy place, but it’s always clean and well organized. You don’t have to wait long, food is usually served quickly, and the staff is friendly, helpful, and always willing to make great recommendations. There are only three tables available to dine inside, but we usually order takeout. The food always tastes amazing and the quality is very consistent. Highly recommend the grilled steak with gallo pinto, sweet plantains, and fried cheese a delicious and traditional combination. The four milks dessert is also outstanding. I was here for lunch. Ordered a couple of things from the menu. I was not impressed with the meat and the Moro rice (not in the picture but my daughter ordered it) did not taste like it had seasoning. Very bland. The arroz con leche was very good and the fried cheese too. The AC is unbearably cold. I had to eat fast and leave because it was like a meat locker. The girls working the register and taking orders were nice. I gave them a 4 star because it’s not horrible food. I went for a quick bite before a dentist procedure, it met the purpose.

This place sucks. We placed an $800 dollar catering order for 30 people first thing in the morning and was told delivery would arrive at noon. At 1pm nothing was here so we called. The lady that answered hung up on us and left the line off the hook so we couldn’t call back. Fast forward to 2pm still nothing. We had to call another store to get someone to help us contact them and we still do not have an update. It’s a shame that I have to give these people 1 star because they deserve 0!

We love coming here to pick up food and take it home to eat. The food is very affordable and very tasty! We love it. We probably come at least once a week. You can get dinner for two for less than $20!
