Frying Fish

Frying Fish is a solid Chinese restaurant with good food overall, though it didn’t quite blow us away. The dishes we tried were enjoyable, but we felt the spiciness and overall flavor could have been pushed a bit more to really stand out. Overall, it was a pretty good experience, just not quite top-tier for us.

Pretty run of the mill Chinese joint though seems a bit more authentic than most. The seating is arranged primarily for groups of people, as there are large tables, then rectangle tables for 6, strangely, but I can tell they are just working with what space they have. I ordered the Kung pao chicken, no nuts, add bell peppers. It was pretty good, though a few pieces of chicken were just gristle or fat chunks. The pork gyoza was pretty good. They were busy so no critique on serving speed, and they all seemed quite polite. Food came out pretty quick. The flavor was good. I might come try it again if I'm in the area. Oh yeah, I tested the water here with a water tester, it was an amazingly low number! The lowest I've seen yet! (16/600ppm, very good water!)

All the dishes we ordered were so tasty! We had the eggplant, tofu, pork ribs, and fish with pickled vegetables. Every dish was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Great service and cozy atmosphere too. Definitely coming back!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Frying Fish. The staff were very friendly and genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect. The food was outstanding, every dish was fresh, full of flavor, and the amount was very generous. I especially loved Feiteng Swai Fillets and Fried Pork in Scoop, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned! Service was prompt without feeling rushed, and the overall pacing of the meal was just right. Frying fish gets everything right. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family!

Unironically fish is the highlight of this restaurant! It tasted fresh and had good portions. The other spicy dishes actually turned out to be more underwhelming in comparison. Overall, good portions & authentic flavor!
