Frying Pan

Went here to enjoy some food after hiking. The options of tables were limited, but we did get to sit down immediately. Ordered with Devyn. Took on the minimum 30 minutes for our food to come out. (Wasn't really hungry when we arrived, sat there long enough to really get hungry.) I made an excuse that we were a party of four as the people who came in after were one partied and ordered blt sandwich. When we finally got the order, we were missing a meal. The cook shouted in the back but did make the food. Overall favorite was the pancakes and scrapple. I just think the service and atmosphere could use work.

We haven't been here in a few years and stopped by today at lunchtime. There was one other table occupied when we walked in. I'm used to seeing this place packed at this time of day on a weekend, so that was my first clue something was amiss. Almost all the tables had signs making them as closed. We sat down and the server came by fairly quickly to take our drink order. It took longer than expected to get our coffees. They were horrible: bitter, burned, and old tasting. We asked to swap the coffee for some ice tea and that turned out just as bad: sour and old tasting. It took about 45 minutes for our food to arrive. This is an old-school, no-frills Mom and Pop type of place, but the food is tasty, prices are great, and we had no complaints about the service. Note - they do not service breakfast all day, but there's plenty to chose from on the lunch menu. I would definitely go back. (I was a little disappointed they were out of onion rings)

The previous cook and waitress from a few years ago Left. That woman could cook! I know the waitress who had been there for 5 yrs didn't know you have to clean the spouts on the soda machine? Maybe that's why the drinks are nasty. The owner has a tendency to help himself to tip money meant for staff..that may contribute to the service?? It's a crapshoot to eat there.

Delicious lil dive. They were understaffed but worth the wait. Coffee was strong and excellent plus we got lots of refills despite how busy it was. Pancakes, bacon, sausage, chipped beef gravy, fried potatoes and scrapple on our table were perfect. Plus I love the art on the walls, charming.
