We went to Ga Ga on the recommendation of a Yelp Elite and Barron of Chinatown, so we had high hopes. It did not disappoint. Located on Tyler st on the second floor, it’s easy to miss. I’ve probably walked by the place dozens of times and never noticed it. We were promptly seated. Staff were very friendly and gave us complementary tea when we sat down. The interior is two rooms and they have big tables that would be good for groups. What we got: - Hot and sour soup - Eggplant and short rib hot pot - Lobster sautéed in ginger scallion sauce The hot and sour was maybe the best I’ve had. It was packed with tofu, mushrooms, and a delicious broth. We ordered a “small” it was huge! The eggplant and short rib was without a doubt the best I’ve had. The eggplant was perfectly cooked. Great place for large groups. I came here with a group of 12 on a Sunday afternoon. Their food came out quickly and was delicious. The prices were very fair! My favorite was the salt and pepper calamari and string beans!
3rd time come here. First time was a dinner here one and half year ago before Boston Marathon. 2nd is yesterday dinner. Very enjoyed the food. So come today again. Very good Chinese restaurant!!!!
Worth a try to have different rice plates and crispy chicken. Not a great place with nice ambience however, the food we tried filled the gap. Food portion was good enough for to for a single menu item. Service was not that great as we would prefer some one to talk a bit and explain the menu and serve happily however, it seemed they prefer more of local clientelle. Seafood is definitely overpriced. Would recommend to try this restaurant for takeaway (choice of rices, crispy chicken and dim sums).
I miss this type of classic Cantonese restaurant. Great food at super fair price! Also very friendly waiting staff. I do think unless you read in Chinese and know what you are expecting you can experience differently. I hope they stay in business for long. You go there for good food and not fancy places to chat.
