Garfield Police Department

Horrible experience, this guy parked in front of my driveway I called the police, they made me call like 3 different numbers and nothing happened I was in my car while this was happening. TWO POLICE OFFICERS ARRIVED, and none of the did anything, I lost easily 40 min in this bs. The truck came like 7-8 min after and didn't do anything for easily 5 min, until the owner of the car came and left. Not even a ticket for him. And the 2 useless police officers left and didn't say anything to me, this could not be worse. Why are we paying those guys for? I don't want to think that will happen when we seriously need them. Second occasion, they have to be the worse police department of NJ, I called them like 10 times to make a report on the same car parked in front of my driveway, I don't even know

My baby was left deceased inside of me for two months. When I tried to seek justice and press charges, Officer Daniel Pozo told me that, in the state of New Jersey, an unborn child is “not human.” Hearing those words was deeply painful and dehumanizing. He lies ,No one should have their loss dismissed like that. My child mattered, and the lack of compassion shown in that moment felt inhumane and cruel.

I have met decent police officers in this department many good people work here, but whoever is chief or in charge definitely needs to do better this town is becoming Paterson 3.0 I have called the police on midland ave several times , because of people going down the one way. There was someone hit on my street by a car on a scooter, a shooting past the train tracks, and people keep going down the on way from the new building on the corner. To the chief or daily operations coordinator put the donuts down , and do better seriously this city needs to up its safety measures instead of worrying about parking tickets and how to milk residents of this city out of cash no one has in this hard economic period we are living in

Unprofessional, careless, poorly educated, and permitting serious crime to regularly occur in their jurisdiction. If we want to improve Garfield, we need to pull in a better group of people before the city continues to suffer. Half of these people can’t get the job done.

Worst police department! You guys need to do something with some of the officers as they do not have respect and do not have any modals for the citizens. They are supposed to work for the citizens, however, the officer that is on the desk at night tonight Sunday October 5, 2025 needs to be retrained as she is out of boundaries and disrespectful, this is not the first time she has hang up with the call still on and without letting the ones on the other line finish the conversation. What a disgrace for such a city.
