Gem's House of Bagels

Great bagels 🥯 love the EVERYTHING BAGEL @ Gem’s House of Bagels in South Amboy. The place is kinda small and it gets packed pretty fast! So get there EARLY! I love their VEGGIE cream cheese. And they put the perfect amount of cream cheese on the bagel every time I go there. Bagels are crispy outside and soft inside and nice amount of poppy & sesame seeds and some salt. Coffee - not that great. I like strong coffee so I found the coffee to be extremely weak. Or maybe the girl put way too much cream. Either way I love this place and will definitely come back. The girls & guy at the counter are friendly, fast & efficient. They get you out the door pretty fast. Great variety of drinks as well. 5 stars all around

While working Medic Unit #1201 yesterday on a posting reassignment in Perth Amboy, started the shift with a Breakfast Sandwich... Found this GEMS Bagels storefront in South Amboy, NJ. Ordered the usual Pork Roll, Eggs, Cheese on a Everything Bagel with SPK. Very well made sandwich that out did my last sandwich at their Hwy 35, Hazlet location...

I’ve had basic egg sandwiches and hero’s which Are always amazing. But recently I have eaten their loaded Bacon and cheese fries, as well as a toasted French toast, bagel, with butter. And without exaggeration, those two items I could probably live off of for the rest of my life. Understanding, I would probably die of a heart attack in two weeks. That aside, those two item menus are phenomenal.

Bagels are delicious, but would li m e to see smaller holes and some gourmet variety specialty bagels -- type shit. Ya'll stretching them holes out like you put a fist in them lol

Bagels made the old school way ! These bagels are amazing. Being from NY I didn’t think I’d find bagels like this in NJ. Crunchy in the outside (if you get a well done one) light and airy on the inside. Has that hard to come across old school bagel taste. I knew right away when I saw their old oven and kettle to boil them they would be good. Gets crowded because their stuff is excellent. But they have a lot of counter people that hustle to get you out as quick as possible. Highly recommended
