George's Pizza

George’s Pizza is a tough place to rate. Despite the name, it’s a lot closer to a bar that does food than a real pizzeria. By the standards of the former, it’s better than you’d expect. By the standards of the latter, it’s nothing special. We ordered a medium George’s Combo pizza (pepperoni, sausage, beef, green peppers, and mushrooms) and an order of fried mushrooms. Food was read on-time, and it looked good. The pizza was generously topped, and the mushrooms were a nice golden brown. Those mushrooms were addictively good. Dip them in ranch, and you’ll have a hard time stopping yourself from eating more than you should. The pizza was more of a mixed bag. THIS-IS-THE-GO-TO-RESTAURANT!!!! The outside appearance is SO misleading, don’t pass this place by. EVERYTHING is AMAZING! And the Prices for the amount of food you get are unbelievable! I ALWAYS leave with a take-out box because there’s so much yumminess that I can never finish in one sitting! Ok—now my go-to’s: ONION RINGS are freaking Out-of-this-World—definitely a staple and with their homemade ranch dressing—can’t go wrong! Next, their subs—-I’m literally drooling now thinking about the hot ham and cheese (second pic!) This thing is so crispy on the outside and soft and warm and ohhhhh yes in the middle! The way to think about George’s is that it is a bar first and a restaurant second. The service can be up and down some. The kitchen might have a bad night sometimes. The interior is definitely well worn. But the food? When it’s good. It’s good. They have some of the best wings in High Point. Always cooked to perfection. I could just go here for wings and be perfectly happy. Loaded tater tots are amazing. Regular ones great as well. The burger is large and has a great fresh taste. Cooked to order. Portion sizes are large. You won’t leave hungry. Last time I was here everything was A OK and I plan to return soon.

If you have never had pizza from George’s, you are missing it! We’ve been coming here approximately 8 to 10 years and it was an accidental happening. Tonight Paris took great care of us. So go on in and give George’s Pizza a try.

Ordered a Build Your Own Burger, it was excellent. The lettuce, tomato and red onion were fresh, surprising amount of bacon, couldn't have been happier with it. Will definitely be back, lots of options to choose from on the menu.
