Gettysburg Family Restaurant

I recently visited Gettysburg Family Restaurant and had a generally good experience. The portion sizes were very generous and the food was satisfying. Our server was especially nice and professional, and the service throughout the visit was attentive. One thing that stood out to me, though, was the Confederate flag on the staff uniform. Personally, I did not feel comfortable seeing that symbol. Overall, the food portions were plentiful and the service was friendly, but the uniform detail did affect my personal experience.

I was craving baked oatmeal, and they not only had it, but served it with delicious fresh fruit. 1st time here. If this is this good, I’m sure the rest of their dishes are terrific.

The food and service were great. Definitely small town diner vibes. I had the egg salad, Mozzarella sticks, and fries. Everything was fresh and they have good prices.

Gettysburg Family Restaurant has a nice menu of "home-cooked" meals. I think the average age of the clientele is about 75 😊 which goes to show you how popular it is. My wife had the hot roast sandwich, and it was a good portion and tasty. I was brave, and ordered the half rack of ribs 😲 The gamble paid off, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a full plate of tasty, fall-off-the-bone ribs. The food came out in decent time, and the waitress was very nice. A good experience.

This is my 3rd and last time here. I had breakfast the first two times and it was OK. Last night I had dinner and I regret it. The breakfast was standard and tasted good, but it's hard to screw up eggs. Last night I had an open faced roast beef sandwich. It was deli sliced roast beef, on regular white slices bread, with (I'm pretty sure) gravy from a jar. They cut the bread in half and stacked it before putting the beef and gravy on it. They put 2 slices of roast beef and smothered the whole thing in generic tasting gravy. She had the chicken parmesan and we're confident that they bought the beaded chicken patty and nuked it. Again, the whole meal was very disappointing. I don't recommend this restaurant.
