If you’re anywhere near Penn State and haven’t tried Gigi’s Southern Table, you are truly missing out! From start to finish, this restaurant delivers one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had in Central Pennsylvania. The atmosphere is warm and inviting — upscale yet comfortable, with a Southern charm that immediately makes you feel at home. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure every guest feels welcomed. I’ll start with the design — the place is absolutely beautiful and filled with positive energy. Everyone there was so friendly, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which I really liked, and the Louisiana soup, which wasn’t quite my favorite, but overall, it was a lovely experience. NB: brunch was until 4 PM

Nothing like a little southern comfort in the heart of State College. You felt the welcoming and inviting southern hospitality as soon as you walked in. Not only were the servers polite and kind, but the food was also magnificent. As you would expect, many dishes offered southern staples such as grits and fried foods. We shared the buttermilk biscuits to start. The biscuits were golden brown with a crunchy crust on the outside and were soft and fluffy on the inside. The buttery aroma made these treats comforting, warm, and inviting. For my main, I had Mama's Sunday Short Rib. The generous portion of succulent ribs had a deep, savory flavor and were complemented with velvety smooth mashed potatoes and vibrant green asparagus spears. Wow, we ate their last evening after having a test done at Geisinger Penn State. What a great find the atmosphere was fabulous from the seating by a fireplace to the most comfortable and stylish chairs. I can’t say enough! I had the most amazing Basil sour cocktail with Jamison, egg, white foam, and a drizzle of bitters to die for. Our meals were perfection and the Desserts, outstanding! What a diamond In the rough so to speak. Classy, sophisticated, Excellent service, Entrées, side, dishes, desserts, that You would not expect in this college town. Kudos to George For making us feel at home, welcome and went out of His way to be observe and make our dining experience the best!

We ate here for my birthday dinner on a Wednesday evening and it far exceeded our expectations! The waitress was polite, attentive and made good recommendations. The cocktail was fantastic. The steak (we both got the filet) was probably the best I've had in a long time! The herbed grits were really good. Truly, everything about the meal and overall experience was just wonderful. Kudos to the chef! We can't wait to go back! The only potential downside was I felt that the biscuits needed butter and salt on top, but that could also just be a personal flavor choice!
