The atmosphere here is excellent — warm lighting, a clean setup, and a relaxing vibe that captures the charm of a cozy Italian spot with a beautiful sea view. The environment alone, paired with an impressive wine selection, makes it worth a visit. Customer service was moderate. The staff were polite, but attentiveness was lacking. We were left waiting outside for about 15–20 minutes — a noticeable miss, especially considering the restaurant was roughly 80% empty. There were also minor delays with refills and an awkward seating arrangement, though nothing too disruptive. The food itself was hit or miss. A serendipitous find while having a family trip in Rhode Island. Having access to many fine Italian restaurant in New York City and having tasted many of the best Italian restaurants throughout the world, I am amazed to find a restaurant of high comparable caliber here in Rhode Island. The uni beef tartare was some of the finest I've ever had and all of their pasta dishes were perfectly cooked and delicious par to some of the best Italian dishes I've had in my life.

Nicely curated Italian restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining options. The chef's choice 7 course dinner is a wonderful option. Impressive wine list compliments the food. The pasta was perfectly seasoned. The salmon was also very good. Terrific service as well.

We accidentally stumbled across the restaurant while taking a walk and went in to try. The menu is small but the staff explain the menu well if needed. We got a simple marinara pasta and mafaldine (lobster pasta). Both of them were very yum and seemed fresh. The marinara sauce is amazing. They were able to give a coloring set for my kid which helped. We had a good experience there!

Gusto is hands-down my favorite restaurant in Newport. Michelle is an incredible server; warm, welcoming, and so knowledgeable about everything she serves. She truly makes the experience special every time. I can’t wait to come back again very soon.
