Glassboro Public Library

This is not even a library anymore. Its a small little room now. I felt like I was walking into a tiny book shop. This is really upsetting- bring back the real library, please.

I am new to Glassboro and work remotely. After visiting the Pitman library and loving it, I realized that there was a library even closer to my home. It is small but clean, and there appeared to be several computers available for use. There are limited tables and seats, but it wasn't busy so that wasn't an issue. Here's what was, however. When I arrived, there was a vibrant children's play time happening. I went to sit by the window, where there were 4 chairs set up. I moved one chair a few inches closer to the window and prepared to work. Directly in between the chairs were two garbage cans--strangely placed but not a big deal--or so I thought. I shifted the garbage and recycling cans about two feet; as soon as I did, one of the library staff (heavyset woman) came over and said "You can'

I thought the parking situation was going to be the worst part of the new location...it wasn't. It's a third of the size of the previous location. The children's area is tiny and doesn't offer nearly as many activities as this library used to. It's not inviting for children by any stretch. The woman working this morning couldn't really be bothered to help me find a specific book I was looking for for my son. This new location is a very large miss for Glassboro.

We love this library. I put a lot of books on hold from the Gloucester County family of libraries and am easily able to park and run in and pick them at this branch. The children's programs are excellent, and my children love the children's library staff. Most of the other staff members are very friendly and helpful as well. The only thing I don't particularity care for is that the bathrooms are locked and you have to get a key from the front desk.

The Children’s Librarian, Miss Mary, is very kind and wonderful with the kids. You can tell she is passionate about what she does. They offer so many fantastic children’s programs that I have always found to be fun and engaging as well as educational. I’ve also only had positive experiences with any other staff with whom we’ve interacted.
